Christopher Vetter
for M2i Board
About Me
Goals If Elected
I strive to create a more transparent and engaging environment at M2i by actively seeking member feedback and providing comprehensive agendas and detailed committee minutes. By enhancing transparency, members can gain a clearer understanding of board decisions and actively participate in discussions. Additionally, I am committed to implementing building enhancements that directly benefit owners while ensuring a strong reserve balance and budget that aligns with the level of service our community expects.
Some specific goals I would like to pursue include:
Implementing consistently scheduled board meetings to foster stability and predictability
Enhancing board meeting transparency with slides and presentations on items being discussed or approved, improving the remote meeting experience, and ensuring prospective projects are discussed in open meetings before execution
Reviewing building contracts to confirm the building receives the best value for services
Conducting periodic surveys from the board and committees to gauge community interest in upcoming projects, upgrades, or events
Exploring creation of a community newsletter to keep all members informed, especially those unable to attend meetings
Investigating callbox replacement for improved security with video calling, unlocking via phone app, and fob-less entry
Accomplishments
Since moving into M2i, my financial recommendations have been well-received by the board, leading to the creation of a Finance Committee this summer, where I serve as chair. The committee is tasked with reviewing the building's financial health, supporting budget planning, and evaluating project proposals for financial impact. Some early accomplishments include:
Supporting budget planning for projects like the gym renovation and other common area improvements
Negotiating with vendors for the landscaping project and achieving near $10,000 in savings from the original proposals
I am also serving as co-chair of the Gym Sub-Committee, responsible for exploring a redesign of the gym space. Our goals include gathering direct member feedback through surveys, creating a design that reflects this feedback, and addressing the diverse needs of members. The sub-committee aims to implement these changes in the coming months with the board of directors.
As an owner, non-board member, I have actively contributed to fostering a responsive and transparent community by:
Encouraging open feedback and engagement requesting more detailed board meeting minutes and committee reports/minutes
Securing over $25,000 in annual savings on phone lines for elevators, fire monitoring, and call box systems
Improving financial transparency by arranging for FirstService Residential to make monthly financial statements accessible to all members
Enhancing the landscaping project by providing updated design options and bringing the project to completion with the board
